Lower Kaskaskia Stakeholders

Each year LKSI holds the "Annual Barge Trip" which is only open to members and sponsors. This trip is held on the first Friday after Labor Day and is a way for people and elected officials to become better acquainted with the value of the river to the local area. The trip starts at one of the Port terminals and begins boarding at 5:00 PM. A meal on the barge is served along with other refreshments and dessert. A short program is conducted that informs those on the barge what the navigation project brings to the region. In addition, the Congressman is also on board to visit with people and businesses. To become a member, go to the Membership page and print out the form, complete it and along with the membership fee send it in to the person listed on the form. You must be a member in good standing by March 31st of each year. Dues are $25.00 and includes on a first come, first reserved basis two tickets to the Annual Barge Trip. Members must register for the barge trip in advance of the event.
